helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

Lighting really makes a world of difference when it comes to the design of your wedding. The right lighting can completely transform an otherwise boring room – and let’s face it, when you’re on a budget sometimes a boring old reception hall is all you can afford. When I see photos of fancy schmancy receptions, they almost always have gorgeous lighting effects- so like many brides I think I always assumed that lighting would be expensive. But thanks to our newest sponsors and friends at DIY Uplighting you can create a stunning atmosphere that feels oh-so-swanky but doesn’t break the bank!

Their service is easy, affordable and they deliver anywhere in the country! Just check out their perfect score on WeddingWire and see what other real brides and customers are saying about their experience with DIY Uplighting. LOVE this review from real budget bride, Emily:

I HIGHLY recommend using DIY Uplighting if you are on a tight budget. This was one of the last things we booked for our wedding, and I am SO happy we did it! It made such an impact and made the whole room seem really romantic. The receiving and returning of the lights was super easy– it’s all pre-postaged so you just drop it in the mail! Great company, great prices, and super easy to do on your own!

That pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? Just placing a few strategic lights around your room/tent/barn/banquet hall can transform your space into the event of the century! Watch the video below to see just how easy it is to use the lights and set them up!

Easy, right? Basically you place your order for the amount of lights you need, and DIY Uplighting ships the lights to you a few days before your big day (for free!). You set them up at your event, and for as little as a $25 deposit and $19 per light, you get a professional quality lighting effect to help make your wedding day shine! So if you’re in need of a little extra help to fancify a boring reception space, I hope you’ll check out our friends at DIY Uplighting!

Just remember, setting up 20 or so uplights can take upwards of 2 hours so give yourself plenty of time. Also, get lots of black extension cord. Orange shop cords ones are so tacky at a wedding! And bring plenty of gaffers tape or duct tape!

These lights all plug into each other so in most cases extension cords won’t be necessary. But definitely good advice on finding black ones over orange :)

I was just going to comment how seamless the lights appear — no cords. Love the pink!
