If there's one thing we love here at The Budget Savvy Bride, it's finding ways to feel like you're indulging without spending much money. That's pretty much the definition of budget savvy! Whether it's scoring the dress of your dreams by buying a pre-owned gown or finding ways to completely pamper yourself in the comfort of your own home, there are so many ways to treat yourself without spending a fortune. Today I want to share with you one of those pampering treatments that you can make at home using very simple ingredients: Coconut Oil and Matcha! We partnered with Kopari (the creators of my very favorite Coconut Oil Melt) to share a super simple and effective Face Mask Recipe with you!
If you're not familiar with matcha, here's a quick rundown on why our skin loves it so much. Matcha is an antioxidant that fights the negative effects of UV radiation and free radical pollution in the air. There is also a compound in matcha called epigallocatechin gallate, which is highly anti-inflammatory so it’s great for rosacea, acne, sensitive or sensitized skin. Did I mention it can prevent prematurely aging? Enough said!
Coconut Matcha Face Mask Recipe:
• 1 tsp organic matcha powder
• 1 tsp of Coconut Melt
Mix powdered matcha and Coconut Melt into a small dish until all powder is dissolved. Evenly spread a layer of the mixture across entire face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Wash face with warm water and enjoy your antioxidant-rich, soft and soothed skin. We recommend using this mask once a week as a way to pamper and treat your skin, plus it's a great way to destress in the midst of wedding planning. Matcha has such a calming effect – between the green tea and the coconut you'll feel just heavenly!
Note: You can't use just *any* regular coconut oil you purchase at the grocery store. We recommend using Kopari's Coconut Melt because it's made from 100% organic and unrefined coconut oil that's so pure it's absurd. Did I mention it's also vegan, phthalate-free, cruelty-free & GMO-free? Yeah, so it's totally perfect to use on your skin… plus their jar will last you for months!
I just know you'll go Coconuts for Kopari, just like I have. Check out their Coconut Melt here.
