What was your design inspiration?
The shoot was inspired by bold, South American colors, with colorful accents pairing perfectly with dark, vintage wooden tables and rich, colorful vintage furniture. Creating a colorful, fun, bohemian atmosphere in a sea of weddings filled with beautiful neutrals and rustic details was so much fun.
Describe your flowers.
Holly took the bold, eclectic feel of the inspiration and ran with it, creating wild, textural floral pieces for the bouquet and bride’s hairpiece. The floral elements for the table were kept simple and fun, with a mix of colorful candles and blooms in bud vases running down the farm table. While Holly is the master of gorgeous florals, I loved that the floral elements for the tables would be simple and dramatic for a DIY wedding!
Describe your cake.
The fruity, naked cake from Frosted Envy perfectly paired with florals from Holly and the simplistic, texture-filled cake worked perfectly against the ribbon backdrop, popping out from the colorful backdrop.
Tell us about your attire choices.
The bride’s breezy dress was a great match for the windy hillside setup, with soft lace accents and minimal “bling.” Her look was romantic and simple but worked well with her husband’s more traditional look. His navy suit working well with the bold warm tones of the decor and lush greens of the far.
Please describe any handmade, personal or DIY items.
Jessica, the planner, created an amazing ribbon backdrop for the ceremony and cake to add pops of color to otherwise natural spaces. Kerry Ann, who did the paper goods, crafted a fun hoop seating chart for one of the lounge spaces.
Describe the tablescape elements.
Pairing the dark wood of the farm tables with bud vases and metallic pieces helped the bold color palette shine through in the floral elements and patterned dishes. The sweetheart table was adorned with the bride’s fun, textural bouquet, and a large floral arrangement, keeping the setup more simple to showcase the gorgeous vintage chairs for the bride and groom. The whole table had a lot of mix and match and DIY elements. Skipping the linens in favor of showing off the wood of the farm tables and pulling some vintage/thrift shop like elements into the design for a more relaxed, organic look.
