Please give a breakdown of your wedding budget.

  • $6,200 included the ceremony, officiant, photographer, flowers, cake, champagne, wedding coordinator and two nights stay at the resort. Auberge’s elopement package made everything feel like a breeze.
  • We added a few finishing touches like additional flowers, a violinist, and hair/makeup. Our attire, hotel, and travel put us in the double digits budget-wise.

We did our elopement for less than $15,000.

How many guests did you have?

We had nine guests.

How did you meet?

We met on New Year’s Eve in 2012 through mutual friends.

What is your proposal story?

Our proposal was very non-traditional – much like our wedding! Paul took Carly to Brooklyn, NY on a birthday trip to custom design her ring with Caitlin Mociun of MOCIUN. We received the ring about a month later and I guess you could say that’s when we “officially” became engaged!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

We eloped with our immediate family by our side (11 people including us), and we were lucky enough to spend a few days prior to our elopement exploring Napa Valley and showing our family our favorite vineyards. It was a lovely trip and we enjoyed keeping it intimate by just having our family out there with us!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding now?

If you are thinking of eloping, do it! I’ve heard so many couples say they wish they had eloped and if that’s what would make you both happy, then do that. Try not to let the pressures of a big wedding get to you. This is your day and you should spend it how you want to!
