What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

I tried to DIY as much as possible with the use of my Cricut. Almost all the decor was made by me.

My decor rentals were from Something Borrowed Blooms and were so lovely!

Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?

Pretty much everything from the getting ready pjs for the girls, the the table decor, to the ring box and denim jacket!

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

Fake flowers over real (Something Borrowed Blooms), off the rack dress instead of custom ordering, and getting our wedding cake from sams club!

Describe your attire choices.

I purchased my dress off the rack from birdie bridal in Fort Worth, TX. The dress fit like a glove and only needed minor alterations. The designer is GLS Collective and I could not have been happier with my choice. The dress featured so many intricate lace details that I wanted to match my romantic vibe.

Ryan purchased his suit online during a Black Friday Perry Ellis sale. We tried to save money any way that we could while still choosing styles we loved. Ryan wanted to stand out from his groomsmen so he chose a navy tux with a black lapel which tied into the groomsmen’s black tux’s.

For the bridesmaids I initially had them in a light grey color, but when covid hit bridesmaids dresses became hard to order because of overseas shipping delays. I ended up changing the bridesmaids to black dresses so that they could find a dress from any retailer without having to match a certain grey color. It all ended up coming together great in the end!

What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

Venue for sure! We wanted the venue to set the mood for our big day.

What was your favorite detail?

All the personalization I was able to do with my Cricut.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

Seeing my future husband at the end of the aisle and hearing his vows!

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Don’t sweat the small stuff, nobody but you will even notice it! The Budget Savvy Bride website and planner were super helpful to me while planning my wedding! While Covid threw everything for a loop, I was grateful we still got to enjoy our big day with our loved ones!
