What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

We just wanted to show up and get married. After planning and re-planning our wedding during the pandemic, we just wanted to have everything taken care of and the stress removed from the day. We live-streamed our own wedding and bought a go-pro for that purpose, and to document our whole trip (way cheaper than adding live-streaming on to any package we researched).

Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?

Not for the actual wedding, but I did make personalized honeymoon shirts and bags with my Cricut! For the original wedding at home, I had a DIY list a mile long… I’m really glad I didn’t have to do it.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

ELOPED

What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

The videographer add on! Which was SO worth it. We almost didn’t opt to add that on but I am so glad that we did.

What was your favorite detail?

Our officiant. We felt such a connection with him and we had just met! We were honored to be married by him and the detail he put into the ceremony was amazing.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

Just being there, feet in the sand, with my husband. AND the awesome pictures we took in the ocean… laying on the sand in my wedding dress. I loved that the whole day was just about us and no one else.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Choose your dream elopement from the beginning. We have ZERO regrets. We only wish we had decided to elope sooner.

We are so happy that we eloped. We had a whole wedding planned at home in Kentucky and when we got cut down to 25 people who could attend, we decided to do what we wanted to do… TWO WEEKS before our wedding date. We didn’t know if it would be possible to pull off but Simply Eloped made it possible for us. They planned everything and took care of all the details, we truly just got to show up. We didn’t have the wedding we originally planned, but we did have the wedding of our dreams.
