Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?
We did not do any projects or have any handmade items, but we did have a local florist create my bouquet and my husband’s boutonniere. It was such a fun experience.
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
My father-in-law was our officiant, and it was a very sweet personal touch for our ceremony.
My husband and I wanted to be apart from our family when we read our vows to each other, which made for a very intimate moment with just the two of us.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
The most memorable moment of the day was going to dinner with our parents, Cristiana Fiorini (photographer) and Francesco Corbisiero (videographer) after our ceremony. It was so much fun getting to relax, celebrate with a good meal, and talk with our new friends from Italy.
I learned so much about their careers, other weddings they have been a part of, and their day to day lives. This dinner may have been my overall highlight from our entire 3 week trip. It is a day and evening that I will cherish forever.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
We ended up having our ceremony at the same place we were staying in Bellagio, which saved us costs on a venue. Our house was on top of a hill and was so breathtaking that I could not have imagined getting married anywhere else in Lake Como!
What was your favorite detail?
Our favorite detail of the entire day was the location. We could not have asked for a better background for all of our amazing photos than the mountains surrounding Lake Como.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
My advice would be to find a photographer and videomaker that you truly click with. It can be hard to plan a special moment from halfway around the world, but if you include someone that you can trust, it makes the entire process easier.
Make sure that you have a very “go with the flow” mentality. You can only control what you can control, so enjoy the process!
