Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?

I made the bridesmaids’ flowers – I got flowers from Hobby Lobby and wrapped the ribbon around the stems.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

We both decided to wear cowboy boots for the ceremony. I had my great grandmother’s handkerchief wrapped around my bouquet. We had a good friend and our Pastor marry us!

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

The most memorable moment of the day was walking down the aisle and seeing Nate tear up. It made all of my dreams come true seeing him.

Saying our vows was another one of our most memorable moments.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

We both decided that we wanted a small wedding. We also decided that we didn’t want to spend a lot on the wedding. We had a budget in mind and came very close to it!

Once we found our venue, it all fell into place so nicely. We decided not to have a traditional reception, and instead just did a small dinner after the ceremony.

What was your biggest splurge?

We kept everything very simple. We decided to spend a little more money on Nate’s new cowboy boots. It was a special day for him and we wanted him to have something he would not only love, but would wear often.

What were your favorite details?

Nate’s favorite was having his dad surprise him with his 1957 Corvette! His parents surprised us by trailering it up from Florida so we could take pictures and drive away in it.

Lyndsay’s favorite was having her mom walk her down the aisle, and having her best friends and her niece and nephews there.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

It is your day! Focus on you two. Have an open mind about things because something may surprise you!

Talk about what you both want. If something doesn’t go as planned, don’t stress! More than likely you were the only one that knew how it was supposed to be.
