What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

The setting was fundamental that day and served as the perfect backdrop, making it unnecessary to add anything else. We kept it simple with just the idea to spend intimate moments with our small group exploring new and exciting places. We wanted the day to represent us and how simple moments with the right people can be the most beautiful!

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

As we began our journey, a thick fog blanketed the surroundings, creating a melancholic yet romantic atmosphere. Along the way, we hiked through awe-inspiring landscapes at the Tre Cime, leading us to the perfect spot for the ceremony. With the majestic peaks of the Tre Cime towering behind us, it was a truly unforgettable experience.

The scenery most definitely set the mood. You see Lago di Braies on social media or Google and you set your expectations that it is going to be great, however put realism behind those thoughts as everything online comes with a filter these days. But as we walked up we were stopped in our tracks and speechless! It was better than any post or picture that we had seen online. That destination wasn’t just a stop on our vacation – it is now a moment that we get to look back on as a couple and celebrate that day where time seemed to pause and the world around us didn’t matter as we were focused on our love that brought us there.

What was your favorite detail?

The boathouse on Lake Braies as it undoubtedly is a remarkable feature. It blends seamlessly with the lake and the mountains, adding a uniquely special touch to the narrative. This was just the start to our adventure! We laughed as we pretended like we knew how to row a boat around this lake, and drank hot cocoa, coffee, and warmed our hands before hiking through the Italian Alps. We located the spot to read our vows and then searched for a good five minutes for my wedding band that had fallen out of my pocket on to the mountain grounds.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

Simplicity! Our small guest list (daughters, sister and our photography and film crew). I did my hair and makeup myself. We also booked our travels just out of season, this allowed us to stay in a beautiful chalet and visit what is said to be very touristy locations with barely anyone around.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Let the day play out the way it’s meant to and live each moment of it at your happiest. You’ll blink and it will be over, so cherish and don’t sweat every detail.

What was your biggest splurge?

Our lovely friends and photographers/videographers Emanuele and Federica from In Bianco e Nero, and Thomas with De Lorenzo Films was the best decision. They captured the essense of us in a photograph, not posed or placed but led us on an adventure while capturing memories for us to keep forever.
