Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?

The bouquet was made by the bride! The flowers are from the KTA grocery store in Hawaii.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

We incorporated Hawaiian culture and the symbolism of what each meant into our wedding. We included hand tying, blowing of the pu, and the saltwater blessing.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

One memorable moment was spending the morning trying to not see each other while also being in the same Airbnb. (Basically hiding from one another). Also, walking up to him as I looked at his broad back and post wedding at the restaurant and seeing everyone else around me.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

We paid over time. We made sure to budget what we could afford to get the wedding we wanted.

What was your biggest splurge?

Our biggest splurges were the Airbnb and the flights.

What was your favorite detail?

My tropical bouquet was made by myself, and being able to do my own makeup was some of my favorite details.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

We eloped, so we spent most time planning on what we were doing on the days leading up to the wedding in Hawaii, and being able to enjoy our vacation. We used a planner with an elopement package and they took care of everything: the officiant, photographer and obtaining our beach permit.
