What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
We eloped in Stanley, Idaho with a handful of people knowing about the big day. After deciding to elope the hard part was where to? We are both adventurers and travelers so we decided on Idaho. After seeing how beautiful the landscape is we knew we needed our wedding photos in front of the Sawtooth mountains.
The Bride stuck to the tradition of something old, new, borrowed, blue while making it her own. She wore powder blue Vans high-top sneakers, her recently deceased grandmother’s necklace, a new dress, and forgot to borrow something- so she borrowed her new husband’s socks!
The groom wore wooden monogrammed cufflinks which matched his watch and pocket watch.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
Everything. The whole day was perfect.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
We eloped!
What was your biggest splurge?
The flights to our elopement destination.
What were your favorite details?
Not having to plan the big things, flowers, officiant, photography. Simply eloped planned most of the big stuff leaving me to relax and get excited for the big day!
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Our elopement was just what we wanted. An intimate ceremony in front of a beautiful backdrop. We wouldn’t change our wedding at all.
