helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

Kate and John-Michael celebrated their marriage at a botanical garden and arboretum! Their goal was to keep their wedding intimate and relaxed so they could enjoy their big day stress free. Kate created several lovely DIY pieces to decorate their venue, and I especially loved that she wore her grandmother's watch to complete her wedding look. Enjoy this lovely garden wedding! xoxo, Jessica

What was the total budget for your wedding?

Our total budget was $15,000.

Dress: $1,750

Tux: $300

Vendor: $3000

Caterer: $4500

Alcohol: $750

Flowers: $700

Photographer: $1750

Music: $800

Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?

I made all the decorations and table center pieces. I used wooden boxes with olive colored burlap and filled them with lavender and ivory hydrangea. I made signs for various areas around the reception. I also made a “photo booth” wall for guests to take pictures at.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We wanted to keep it small and relaxed.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

My favorite part was the entire ceremony.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

My grandmother passed away a year ago, and she was very important to me. I wore her watch, which was the first item she bought with her first paycheck as a teacher in 1959

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Elope!! It takes more time and effort to schedule a budget wedding, but in the end it turned out perfect and we really enjoyed it.
