Another year is upon us and that means another annual roundup of wedding trends! And of course, one of the biggest areas of focus where trends are concerned are flowers and decor.

While timeless styles are a safe bet, you still want your wedding to feel current and you can have the best of both worlds by embracing trends that feel meaningful or aligned with you and your partner!

From The Knot’s reporting of 2022 Wedding Trends to the new color of the year for 2022, let’s explore some of these trends and how to embrace them the savvy way with help from our friends at Something Borrowed Blooms!

Top Wedding Floral Trend Predictions for 2022

Lauren Bercier and Laken Swan, co-founders of Something Borrowed Blooms, shared their top floral predictions for the 2022 wedding season with us. Let’s explore some of them below:

Color is here to stay.

Last year, bold colors started a comeback and it’s here to stay for awhile. More and more couples are opting for bolder color palettes so expect to see lots of bright pinks, purples, reds, and oranges this year.

Of course we also know that Pantone just announced Very Peri as their color of the year for 2022, so we can’t wait to see how couples incorporate it into their weddings throughout the year!

The Nina, Gemma, and Kimpton Collections are at the top of our colorful floral picks this year, but hands down the number one showstopper for bold florals has to be the Gemma Bougainvillea Bridal Bouquet.

Earthy Neutrals are a close second

Muted hues are running for a close second in the color trend predictions. Perhaps a compromise between the neutrals of the past and the bold of the future. Sunset, mauve, rust, and amber tones will make an appearance as a safe alternative to full color.

Also on the list was a contemporary comfortable aesthetic that mimics the interior design and home trends throughout 2021, and will be similarly prevalent across 2022 wedding trend aesthetics. This look includes smooth lines and other soothing touches and palettes that especially work well in outdoor natural settings.

We’re not disappointed to see the sunset color pallete again in 2022. The Nina and Wtoo Collections are our favorite muted neutral selections.

Texture on Texture

Wedding and rental trends tend to follow interior design and with that, it should be no surprise that rattan, pampas, and dried floral elements will be a popular choice this year. You’ll see this trend pulled into florals, along with the ceremony and reception decor as well.

Something Borrowed Blooms has an assortment of vessels and decorative accents that embrace this trend. From rattan jugs, cane candle holders mesh vases, you can embrace texture with your wedding vessels.

You can also purchase various loose stems to add texture and complete your wedding day look. From pampas grass to gold monster leaf accents, these elements will add flair and beautiful depth to your decorations.

We can’t wait to share our newest collection, debuting early spring. We’ll leave the color palette as a surprise, but know that it will include all the texture and dried elements creating a beautiful on-trend arrangement! Join our SBBlooms Brides Facebook group for a sneak peek of the new collection debuting soon.

Audrey Collection

Larger than Life Florals

We’ve seen over-the-top florals on the celebrity front this year. You may recall Paris Hilton’s ceremony floral install, which included over $100K worth of fresh flowers to serve as the ceremony backdrop. Expect full-floral arches and larger-than-life ceremony installs to be the focus in 2022.

Achieve Paris’s floral look with The Audrey Collection. Create a beautiful floral installation with the Audrey Grand Centerpiece and Garland.

Savvy Wedding Choices are also Trending for 2022

In the latest wedding trend report from The Knot, several savvy wedding choices were highlighted as trending which we cannot overlook!

Savvy = Relaxed Luxury

The Knot shared that weddings will be getting slightly less formal in 2022, with more couples opting for relaxed vibes and laid-back events over lavish affairs. Couples are wanting a fun atmosphere that’s not so stuffy, from dance parties to backyard affairs featuring flower crowns and appearances by pets (Pssst — you can also rent a floral dog collar for your furry friend from SBBlooms!)

Savvy Weekday Weddings:

With the wedding boom causing a surge in events and a lack of vendors, venues, and dates, many couples will need to embrace a weekday wedding or consider postponing their celebration until 2023. Choose a mid-week wedding date, the SBBlooms team can accommodate your event no matter what day of the week you choose– and they also make it super easy to switch your order should you need to make any changes along the way.

No matter your wedding date, style, vibe, or location, you can bring your wedding vision to life with the help of the savvy collections from Something Borrowed Blooms!
