How did you meet?
We met by swiping right via Tinder 6 years ago.
What is your proposal story?
Chris proposed to me on “our beach” in Crystal Cove where he lined the walkway with my favorite flowers (sunflowers) and proposed on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The best surprise is that he had both of our families there to oversee the proposal where they were standing overlooking and cheering from above.
Tell us a little about your wedding vision.
My vision for our wedding was a timeless, classic and garden theme. I am a big fan of neutrals and loved how crisp grey, white, and gold all looked together with hints of greenery. Added bonus our wedding was held in a beautiful garden so all our decor popped with the surroundings.
Tell us about your attire choices.
My husband and I decided that our bridesmaids and groomsmen had the freedom to wear what they wanted and what made them feel most themselves but also looking pulled together. The men kept it classic in white button downs and black slacks and my bridesmaids chose a shade of grey they liked best in a dress style they felt flattered them.
What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?
Photography and food were most important to us both. We wanted photos that would last a lifetime and food that everyone would remember rather than being fancy and expensive.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
My favorite part of the day was getting ready with all my girlfriends and my first look with my now husband. The first look was something we debated doing but it by far was my favorite time that was set aside that was special for the two of us.
Tell us about your wedding flowers.
My wedding flowers were a mixture of several different white florals and lots and lots of greenery.
Tell us about your wedding cake.
Our wedding cake was red velvet which is collectively our favorite cake flavor and was simply dressed in all white buttercream. It was lined with fresh flowers and topped with our favorite saying “all good things”.
What did you do for favors?
We didn’t end up doing favors. I asked numerous other brides and attendees in advance how important favors are and many people mentioned this not being a big deal to guests and typically being an unnecessary added expense so we decided against it.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
My advice is that in the long run, most people will remember how good or bad the food was, so make sure the food is tasty and not just beautiful. Also, the day of coordinators are super important and worth investing in. Lastly, as soon as you get engaged, make sure you create a wedding email address, this will help you tremendously as time goes on and your planning gets more detailed as you can keep everything organized via email.
