Registering for wedding gifts can be one of the most fun parts of planning a wedding! Let's be real… it's basically like shopping for all the items of your dreams for your new home with your new spouse. What's not to like?

One of the most popular places to register for your wedding gifts is none other than your favorite department store: Macy's! Lest you think a department store registry is super traditional, Macy's selection of items for house and home is pretty vast. They've got furnishings to suit an assortment of styles, so you'll be sure to be able to create your perfect registry from their range of products.

To show you just how chic and modern Macy's selection is, I decided to share some of my favorite modern wedding gifts from their site. Check them out – and then totally add them to your own wedding registry at Macy's!

chic finds for your wedding registry from Macy's!

I just love window shopping online! Here are our favorite chic picks from Macy's:

1. Mikasa Grey Porcelain Dishware  |  2. Geometric Wine Rack  |  3. Gold Bamboo Bar Cart  |  4. Faux Fur Throw  |  5. Grey Lavender Candle  |  6. Neutral Woven Basket  |  7. Gold Geometric Lamp  |  8. Rose Gold Flatware  |  9. Bottle Vase Holder  |  10. Stemless Wine Glasses  |   11. Spa Bath Towels  |  12. Gold Geometric Mirror

Some things to remember when registering:

  1. Register for gifts in a range of price points.
Give your guests the opportunity to spend what they can afford. Select items in a whole range of prices so that your guests can choose the options that work best for you.
  2. Think about every room in your house.
Much of the wedding registry often consists of items from the kitchen, but don't forget about the bedroom, bathroom, living room and more.
  3. You don't have to register for new versions of *everything.*
You don't have to register for new dishes if you already have a full set that you love. Feel free to skip items that would be duplicates or are unnecessary.
  4. Use your registry as an opportunity to upgrade older/lower quality pieces you already own.
Still sleeping on crummy jersey sheets? Register for an upgrade to Egyptian cotton 700-thread count luxurious bedding! If you don't happen to get receive them as a gift, you can score them for 20% off after the big day with Macy's Registry completion discount!
  5. Skip items that don't make sense for you as a couple.
Don't have much space or not big on entertaining? Don't bother registering for duplicate dishware or fine china. If you don't think you'll use it, feel free to skip it!

The great thing about registering for gifts is that you aren't the one spending the money. Your guests can choose to spend as much as they are comfortable spending, and maybe you can use any leftover cash you receive as a wedding gift to put toward higher-ticket registry items that weren't actually purchased!

Registering at Macy's comes with tons of perks, you can read all about them here. Plus, this month, when you purchase a gift off of a couple's Macy's Registry, you'll receive $20 off your next purchase of $50 or more. Pretty awesome, and #budgetsavvy!
