Navy, Gold, and White Golf Course Wedding for $12K

This couple planned their wedding from afar with the groom in the Military and the Bride's family from Australia. It was during the day, an earlier wedding, and perfectly and simply elegant a few days prior Christmas! We love the navvy, gold, and white color scheme with greenery accents. Enjoy this Navy, Gold, and White Golf Course Wedding for $12K!

How many guests did you have?

How did you meet?

I am from Sydney, Australia and Justin is from Los Angeles. We met on a dating app when I was visiting family in LA and Justin was home on leave.

What is your proposal story?

Justin proposed when we were in vacation in Australia, he surprised me in the rainforest on beautiful Fitzroy island.

Tell us about your wedding vision.

My vision for our wedding was a mix of modern and classic with nature tied in all aspects of the day. The color palette was white, gold, navy blue, with greenery to accent these colors. I chose the location as I loved the idea of an outdoor reception, the courtyard, garden, and mountain backdrop was perfect.

Tell us about your attire choices.

I chose a long sleeved wedding dress with a long veil as it was beautiful but also a little unique.

Justin wore his Marine Corps uniform which complimented my dress and the bridesmaids navy blue gowns.

What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

The most important part of planning for me was creating the vision I had in mind while sticking to a strict budget.

We chose to splurge on photography as I felt it was the most important to capture our day perfectly.
Our florist was also amazing in fulfilling my vision within a tight budget.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Our favorite part of the day was just celebrating with out two families together as they had never met before.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

My vision for the flowers was lots of greener with white flowers. Having a cascading bouquet and florals on the arch were very important to me and Jennifer our florist was so accommodating within our small budget.

Tell us about your wedding cake.

Our wedding cake was a simple lemon flavored single tier “naked” cake. We chose to save money on the cake and also have a small dessert bar. Both were taken care of by Cute Cakes who did a fantastic job!

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.

I sourced some decorations myself from Etsy such as the cake topper and table numbers. I chose to DIY the seating chart and also organized a Polaroid camera and guest book.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Set a budget first and decide whats most important to you and what you’re willing to splurge on. With some research and creativity you can create your vision within your budget!
