How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

We meet online when Joy messaged Ashley asking her why she loves llamas so much! The proposal happened when we went on a trip to California. We had a great day walking around a park. We sat down for a little bit in front of a small waterfall, and Joy asked Ashley to marry her using a ring pop – but then pulled out the real ring! Ashley of course said yes!

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette?

The wedding colors were coral and blue. The inspiration behind the wedding was for everyone to have fun and for us to not do the typical “wedding things”, as we like to think out side of the box.

Was any part of your wedding decor DIY?

For our wedding decor, we had one of our moms make everything as she is an art teacher.

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

We used silk flowers for the bride to hold and the bridesmaids held a beautiful dream catcher as they walked down. This was important to us because it’s something they can keep forever!

Did you personalize the day in any way?

We definitely personalized our wedding day. We did this by using colorful smoke bombs as we walked down the aisle at the end of our ceremony. We also did a tea mixing ceremony which was our twist on the wine blending ceremony.

We and our bridal team walked into the reception doing a fun dance move with hula hoops.

Best of all was when the bride was surprised with her favorite animal showing up, which was a llama!

Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

One of the brides wore a long white dress with a touch of pink in it along with a crown. She wanted to look and feel like a princess on her special day. The other bride wore a blue fitted suit with a custom made white brocade corset under it along with high heels.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

One of the bride’s special moment was when she was told to close her eyes and when she opened them, a llama was standing right in front of her! It was her dream to have a llama come to the wedding as she loves them!

For the other bride, it was celebrating and dancing with all of our friends and family.

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

Make sure you put your needs first. Don’t be scared to do something because you think the guest will judge or not like it. It is your day. Put your own personal touch  into the wedding!
