What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
We had originally planned to elope in Norway, but COVID put a damper on those plans. I knew that the quicker we got over that heartbreak, the sooner we’d be able to get excited about our new plans! We ultimately decided to take advantage of our close proximity to some amazing national parks. We eloped in Glacier National Park, then spent 20 days traveling in the area to see Yellowstone, Tetons and some more remote places around Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. We did a lot of glamping, camping, and cabin stays to keep safe. 🙂
Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?
We did write our on vows. 🙂
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
Foregoing the reception aspect. We plan to have a low-key small house party (once it’s safer) to celebrate with those we love. We’re DIYing a video from our wedding and our honeymoon to share during that tiny celebration.
What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?
Our photographer. Even though we didn’t have guests, we still wanted to be able to share that special day and to have beautiful pictures to remember it by.
What was your favorite detail?
Probably my flowers — I love that moody, earthy bouquet!
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
Seeing my husband’s face the first time he saw me in my wedding dress. 🙂 He was speechless!! And when we did exchange our vows, I could hardly keep it together because it was such a beautiful and emotional moment.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Think about what YOU want to do and don’t fixate so much on what others might want or expect.
