How did you meet?

Like many others do, we met online!

What is your proposal story?

It was the last day of work before Christmas vacation. I came home and the whole apartment was lit with candles and he was in his most handsome blazer and tie. He had our favorite deck building game set up on the kitchen table and motioned for me to sit and play with him.

He had stacked my deck with a custom card he had made to match in with the game “Player to the right of you must bend the knee and ask for your hand in marriage” my jaw dropped, He asked if I wanted to play that card I said “Hell yeah!” and he got on one knee and pressed play on the record player cued up to our song “Harvest moon” and asked me to marry him.

Tell us about your wedding vision.

We had to change our wedding plans drastically because of Covid. We were going to have a big wedding with both our families on a beautiful golf course with lots of beautiful flowers “light blue, peach, pink, cream, and a green suculent here and there” light blue dresses for the bridesmaids and blue suit and ties for the men.

We ended up having a small ceremony in a friend’s backyard with 9 people in physical attendance and 80 of our relatives and friends watching on Zoom. It wasn’t what we had planned, but it was perfect, short and sweet!

Tell us about your attire choices.

Ryan wore a custom blue suit that he loved! I wore a white dress with frills from David’s Bridal.

What was most important to you two? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

For me the most important thing was the flowers. We didn’t splurge on much in the end, again because of Covid, we didn’t do a formal reception or anything.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

My favorite part was standing up at the alter and seeing the look in his eyes. So much love in those eyes I could stare into them forever.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

They were perfect. Light blue, peach, light pink, cream and a couple succulents.

Tell us about your wedding cake.

In lou of cake we had cupcakes. It was a detail I didn’t have that much time to think much about.

What did you do for favors? We had a bag for each guest that included:

We had a bag for each guest that included: Hand sanitizer, a face mask, a pair of gloves, a disposable champagne glass, napkins, and chocolate.

We made the gift bags by hand they matched my flower and colorr scheme

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

It’s hard to plan a wedding during Covid, but if you lean into it and just accept it, you can really save a lot of money. Having it be more intimate can make it more about you and your special someone. I think there could be every person you’ve ever met in life at your wedding and still the only person you are going to see is your partner, its like a love trance.
