helping brides create beautiful weddings without breaking the bank

Today's wedding is absolutely lovely with classy, rustic details! I love how Whitney and Tate created a chic wedding for 100 guests on a budget of $10k. I especially love the beautiful centerpieces at their reception. How beautiful are the sequined table runners? What a perfect way to add some sparkle on a budget. Enjoy this lovely wedding from Arkansas! xoxo, Jessica

How many guests did you have?

We had 100 guests.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

Hand-crafted bar by my father made from recycled bottles and woodwork.

Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?

My mother-in-law strung spent months stringing together family photos we used for wall decor. My coordinator, bridesmaids and I made all flower arrangements and bouquets.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

We went thrift shopping for all the glass bottles we used for my tablescapes, most came from Habitat for Humanity Restore.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Make a list of wedding day priorities and explore your options. Spend money where it matters and save where it doesn't matter quite as much. Be creative. Don't do trendy. Do y'all. AND have fun with it. Specifically, spend the money on a good photographer. You get what you pay for where they're concerned and their photos are how you'll relive your special day for years to come!

What was your biggest splurge?

Music was our biggest splurge.

What was your favorite detail?

Our hand-crafted bar.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

My favorite thing about our wedding was dancing with my groom outside to the music being played inside our reception. We had a table set up outside with food for the two of us so that we could eat before the reception fun began. After we finished eating, Tate stood up, extended his hand and asked me to dance. I love his spontaneity! Time slowed down for those next few minutes. We danced to Unchained Melody. It wasn't a song we requested be play at our reception, but now it's a song that will forever be special to me!
