How did you meet?

Sophomore year of high school in the library. He was so brave and sat down next to me and started talking to me! He was my first boyfriend and me, his first girlfriend!

What is your proposal story?

He reserved our favorite coffee shop for the evening and took me to “get a cup of coffee.” The coffee shop was filled with flowers, candles, mood lighting, and romantic music. He then got down on one knee and of course, I said yes. We sat in the coffee shop for a while after enjoying the moment.

Tell us a little bit about your wedding vision.

I wanted a mountain wedding. The Mon Cheri was perfect as it wasn’t too over the top. I wanted the venue to be simple, elegant, and to let nature bring most of the beauty. I choose olive green for the bridesmaid dresses (boho look) to match the outdoors and nature feel. I think simplicity can be beautiful and that’s what I got. I wanted my boutique to look like wildflowers and it did. The Mon Cheri is also local and has the most amazing pies! It made my wedding so unique!

Tell us about your attire choices

I wanted my dress to be beautiful, of course, but to match the outdoor wedding theme. It was simple enough to deliver. Bridesmaid dresses matched the outdoors and the groom’s attire was grey as to not make too much of a statement. There were no flashy colors (besides my wildflower boutique) as the goal was simplicity and the natural look.

What was the most important to the two of you? Was there anything you chose to splurge on or skip?

The Venue and photography were the most important. We splurged on photography (Sarah Goff is the best ever!). However, the venue turned out to be extremely affordable, and everything I could ever have imagined.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

My favorite part of the day was when everyone left the reception tent to line up with sparklers outside to send us off. My husband and I got amount entirely alone in the beautiful reception tent with our favorite song playing. We danced all by ourselves and it was the perfect moment to soak everything in before heading away.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

Wildflower look with sunflowers intermingled. I did not want my flowers to be super bright. I wanted it to look like the flowers you would find outside while hiking. I had the cutest little berries in my bouquet (those were my favorite).

Tell us about your wedding cake.

I did not have a wedding cake! Instead, I had Pies (so many different and incredible pies). Mon Cheri is also the Colorado cherry company which is famous for their homemade pies and cherry cider. They provided me with so many pies for the wedding day. Everyone loved it and it was so unique to the mountain venue.

Please describe any handmade, DIY, or personal items.

I did a handmade picture frame with close line pins to hang pictures. I had a friend make custom signs for us on wooden boards.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding now?

I decided not to be too picky about every little detail. It will take the fun away from the wedding. I often asked what the wedding planner, florist, hair stylist recommended and went along with it. Of course, I had opinions about certain things but it’s too overwhelming to get caught up with every little detail. I think my wedding was perfect and I made all my decisions fairly fast (lines, dress, theme, food choice, dessert, etc.)
