What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
Andy, the groom, wore a feather in his hat with the letter “T” on it represent our joining together in a new last name. We also brought a bottle of our favorite bourbon with us to toast together after exchanging vows!
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
My most memorable moment was saying our vows in an amazing location in the mountains. It was very personal and peaceful, and I’m so happy we chose to get married there!
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
Choosing an elopement without any guests was probably the biggest thing we did to save money. It was also less stressful this way, and we had a reception when we returned home to celebrate with friends and family.
What was your biggest splurge?
Our biggest splurge was choosing the all inclusive package for our elopement, but it was absolutely worth having everything planned out and taken care of for us. I still felt like it was a great value.
What was your favorite detail?
My favorite detail was all of the beautiful scenery of the places we got to go together throughout the day. The San Juan Mountains (part of the Rockies) in western Colorado are the most gorgeous!
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
My advice would be to focus on enjoying the day and your love for each other, instead of stressing over details or other people. A true elopement was the perfect outcome for less stress and more fun!
