Choosing a budget friendly honeymoon destination

Planning a wedding is great and all, but these days I'm way more into thinking about honeymoons! Jetting off to a tropical paradise or exploring a far away land with your new spouse can be so incredibly romantic and an amazing way to kick off your marriage.

If you're already on a budget for the big day, perhaps your honeymoon has gotten put on the back burner… but you don't have to miss out on this post-wedding tradition if you're willing to do the research to find a budget friendly honeymoon destination! Try perusing the forums over at Trip Advisor will give you some insight on some affordable options for a romantic getaway.

If you're on a super low budget

Consider locations that are within driving distance if you don't have a bunch of money to drop on your honeymoon. Instead of staying at a fancy resort you may want to look into renting a cabin in the mountains or a beach house for a long weekend. Being able to bring snacks or prepare most of your own meals can be a great way to cut down on added expenses, and you're more free to come and go as you please when you bring your own vehicle.

If you're looking for the most bang for your buck

Booking a cruise can often times be the most affordable way to vacation, and it's no different for your honeymoon! Most cruises are all-inclusive and take you to several tropical locations, so you get to see lots of different areas and all your meals are covered. Cruises are known for being a great value, and you can check out Trip Advisor's sister site, Cruise Critic, to compare cruises to find the perfect fit for your honeymoon!

If you're planning to splurge

Saving on the wedding so you can have a more amazing honeymoon? Consider splurging on a luxurious all-inclusive resort. I absolutely loved Sandals Whitehouse that I visited last fall. It was ranked among the best all-inclusive resorts on Trip Advisor‘s lists, so that's pretty amazing! All-inclusive resorts are a great way to go because you pay upfront and all your meals and alcohol are covered. Many all-inclusives also have a variety of activities to take part in, so that makes it even more worth it.
