Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette?

On a beautiful autumn evening of October 27, 2024, lovebirds Sonata and Shirish had a starlight themed wedding, a glamorous event that stunned all their guests. The couple interwove this theme in all design elements of their wedding, starting with the signage that included the invitation, welcome signs, seating charts to the wedding attires, decor, cake, all the way to the dance floor.

Their vision of their dream starlight wedding was exquisitely brought to life by all vendors. The theme was initially conceived by them at their couples’ shower with their cake and invitation sign showcasing galaxy star formation as well as their individual constellation.

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?

The wedding ceremony was held outdoors at Mansion on Main Street with the beautiful backdrop of fall foliage. The couple chose the fall season for their wedding to capture the beautiful auburn colored trees. The venue was perfect for the vision that Sonata and Shirish had in mind: with beautiful white columns adorning the platform that the ceremony would take place. The outdoor lawn and flowers were wonderfully maintained by the property.

The couple picked white flowers to decorate the outdoor ceremony and it matched the white lawn chairs and white marble platform perfectly! After the ceremony, the weddings guests were escorted to the main ballroom which was elegantly and glamorously decorated.

The couple chose white floral design to compliment their starlight theme. The decorator, Wedding Design, did a splendid job to bring their vision to life.

The center stage had gold color lattice frame as backdrop which further accentuated the elegant design. The couple also had a photo wall set up with their names written on a neon sign.

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop?

The florals used for ceremony backdrop and centerpieces were all white and were beautifully set up by Wedding Design. They elegantly decorated the marble columns for the outdoor venue and also interspersed the florals amongst the gold lattice framework for the stage that was set up for the reception. Shirish’s boutonniere paired with Sonata’s bouquet of lush red roses gave were meticulously designed by Jacqueline’s Flowers. The red color gracefully complimented the black tux and white wedding gown.

Did you personalize the day in any way?

After the wedding ceremony, the guests were then escorted inside for the cocktail hour where they were welcomed by a beautiful sign that the couple had created. It had a brightly lit moon lamp on top with stars and constellation signs of the bride and groom around it to match the starlight theme. The words, “I would find you in any lifetime” was at the bottom followed by the names of the couple. The guests were entertained by a violinist. They enjoyed an assortment of appetizers as well as cocktails customized with drink names, Moonlight Sonata and Moves Like Jagga.

Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

After initially visiting several bridal stores, the couple focused on Liya’s mermaid style dress from Pronovias. Sonata wanted to have her gown to have an elegant and timeless look, so she decided on full length sleeves that had intricate lace design. The lace work was carried over to her neckline and the entire gown was meticulously woven and customized to Sonata’s liking. Its plunging V cut in the upper back complemented the long veil well. Sonata’s wedding gown had a sparkle effect with glitter to compliment the Starlight theme of her wedding.

From the first look to the walk down the aisle, the Liya wedding gown highlighted Sonata’s beauty and captured the guests’ amazement. Shirish’s tailored tuxedo from Suit Supply also added to the glamour and gave a stylish flair.

For the wedding reception, Sonata and Shirish changed from their gown and tuxedo to Indian wedding dresses. Sonata wore a fuschia colored Lehenga, intricately embroidered from Nazranaa.

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

Sonata and Shirish first met via an online dating site and instantly formed a connection. They spent hours talking to each other and couldn’t wait to meet in person. Their first date at an Asian fusion restaurant was memorable with the day flying by as they got to know one another. They shared many hobbies and continued to form a closer bond by participating in fun activities like bowling and mini golf and going to musical concerts.

Shirish knew that Sonata was the one for him and someone who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. On the night of June 25, 2024, he proposed to Sonata and she giddily said yes! She was over the moon to know that she would be cherishing the precious moments with him for the rest of their lives.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

The dance floor on the wedding ballroom was a particular highlight, with LED panels giving off a starlight effect. It made Sonata and Shirish’s first dance that much more memorable as they danced to Coldplay’s A Sky Full of Stars. The couple practiced the dance choreography to ensure the first dance was memorable and the song still remains their all time favorite to dance and sing to.
