Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?
We made our own place cards by ordering acrylic cards and handwriting all our guest names and table numbers on them.
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
All signage was created by me through Canva, including our welcome sign, our bar menu, and dinner menu. We also created our own mini photo booth and it was a hit!
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
We did a first look and it was absolutely beautiful. Seeing my husband’s reaction for the first time was something I’ll never forget and it also allowed us to share a few moments together before walking down the aisle.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
We put together our own florals, which saved us so much money in the long run. Additionally, we skipped out on a DJ and opted to have a violinist instead for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. Once it was time to party, I plugged in my phone to our sound system and played a personalized playlist I had worked on for the wedding and it worked out perfectly.
What was your biggest splurge?
Definitely our photographer, videographer, and my wedding dress.
What was your favorite detail?
By having an intimate wedding, we had the opportunity to really enjoy our guests’ company and interact with everyone throughout the night. It really was our favorite detail.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
If you can manage to spend some money on a day-of-coordinator, I would highly recommend it. I didn’t hire one and felt I could’ve enjoyed my day more without having to run around all morning ensuring everything was perfect.
