I'm loving Travis and Kimberly's Southern pink wedding! Kimberly went all out with the DIY at her wedding, and I'm a huge fan of her darling decor. And from the koozie favors to the gold cupcake wrappers, all of the details come together beautifully! Enjoy this beautiful Southern wedding. xoxo, Jessica

How many guests did you have?
We had 100 guests.
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
My personal style is very girly and southern. So I incorporated lots of different shades of pink, lace, pearls, and flowers in my designs. Oh and lots of gold and glitter! Also, we both wrote our own vows (not an easy thing for my quiet husband) and unread love letters to be opened on our first anniversary. We sealed them in a handmade wooden time capsule as part of our ceremony.
Did you do any DIY projects or create any handmade items for your weddings?
Yes! Everything was DIY (except the food and cakes): the centerpieces, the cupcake stands, bouquets, our canvas display for guests to sign, the seating chart, EVERYTHING! I even spray painted little frames gold for table numbers. I planned out my decorations for about a month and then got to crafting. It took 7 months to finish but I did it. My beautiful sisters(also my bridesmaids) helped a lot…mostly by watching my busy little boy! Ultimately I wanted to look back on my wedding day and see it as my greatest project…and it was!
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
Obviously not having a florist or wedding planner helped. I love DIY projects and I was confident in my event planning skills, so I played the part of wedding planner, event designer, and florist.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Do not ask too many people their opinions on wedding details. Get help but choose your circle wisely. Too many opinions can make it hard to stick with YOUR wedding vision. And hire a day of coordinator that IS NOT A GUEST if your venue doesn't offer one with your package. But make sure you tell yours everything you expect.
What was your biggest splurge?
My dress and his boots. I budgeted $500 for my dress but fell in love with one that made me feel like a dream and had all the same details I was incorporating in my wedding decorations. The boots were mandatory! Travis only wears boots so he needed them to stay true to himself and add a detail that was specific to him.
What was your favorite detail?
I have a few: my bouquet, our wedding koozies, and the picture display that doubled as our seating chart. I loved seeing the story of our lives intertwined. The mix of old and new photos made me smile.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
Hearing the music start for our ceremony. I was in my bridal room and I could hear it perfectly. I started to tear up. All the stress went away and the reason for the day was finally upon us. After months of planning, DIY's, late nights, and too much coffee we were finally going to say “I do”!
