DIY Wedding Boutonnieres
This post is part of a DIY Wedding Flower & Decor series in partnership with Bloom Culture Flowers. In this series, you’ll find expert decorating and floral advice from Alison Fleck, design genius and founder of Bloom Culture Flowers.

So many brides are tempted to skip out on boutonnieres for their groom or groomsmen because they seem too difficult. We’re here to tell you it’s not, and we’ll prove it to you with these simple tutorials!

Below, you’ll see how you can make your own wedding floral boutonniere in less than five minutes. Yep, you read that right. 5 minutes. Savvy floral style in a snap if we ever heard it!
Now if this is your first go at making your own boutonniere, it *may* take you more like 10-15 minutes to get the feel for holding it all together. You’ll need to get the hang of using the stem wrap (special tape used in floral design). But full disclosure, you can use just about any tape as long as you don’t squish the stems!
In the tutorial you’ll see how we make three different bouts using three different focal flowers with the same details such as the greenery, filler flowers, and specialty flowers.

What you’ll need:
Flowers:
- Ranunculus
- Spray Rose
- Lisianthus
- Wax Flower
- Bleached Fern

Watch these videos below from Alison of Bloom Culture Flowers to see how simple it can be to create your own wedding boutonnieres!
As you can see, creating your own boutonniere arrangements for your groom or groomsmen can be fairly easy. Just gather your flowers and greenery, arrange them together in a way you like, and remove any extra leaves or stems before attaching them together with stem tape.
You can easily embellish your boutonnieres with decorative tape, ribbon, or whatever else your heart desires. We love seeing couples DIY because it really helps put that personal stamp on your wedding day details. By having more control over the details of your day, you can really make it your own!
You can create similar bouts for every guy in your wedding party or you can create mix-and-match styles that coordinate but aren’t identical twins.
