What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
The groom’s father married us! This made our day feel even more intimate.
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
At the end of the day, we went to Duval Street for pizza and drinks. We stayed in our wedding attire. Passerby would ask us if we had just gotten married. It made me so happy to be able to say, “yes!”
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
We saved thousands on a wedding dress by not only buying something secondhand, but also choosing a dress that was not considered a “traditional” wedding dress.
What was your biggest splurge?
Our photographer, and she was well worth it! As someone who always hates photos of myself, it speaks volumes that I am obsessed with our wedding photos.
What was your favorite detail?
We bought my bouquet on Etsy. It was made with a mixture of silk and dried flowers. Not only did this save us money, but I was able to choose something fun and colorful and uniquely me.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Don’t overthink everything! I wish I had spent less time in the week leading up to the wedding trying to make every little thing perfect and more time focusing on self-care and getting plenty of rest.
